This is my second year back to teaching after taking some time to stay at home with my children. This year I will be teaching 2ndgrade math, 4thgrade math and 4thgrade social studies. To say that I’m excited about working with your children would be an understatement. When this opportunity presented itself last year, I instantly felt my heartstrings being tugged back to the classroom and I truly feel honored to be a part of the STC school community.
My husband, children and I currently live in Spring City. I grew up locally in Limerick where I attended Sacred Heart Grade School and St. Pius X High School. I earned a BA in Elementary and in Special Education from LaSalle University. While at LaSalle I ran indoor and outdoor track and was also the first female mascot. I attended Lehigh University for my graduate degree and specialized in academic intervention. Before having my children I taught grades 1,2,4 and 5. In my last assignment I coordinated special education programming for grades K-12 and I worked closely with new teachers and their professional development.
While raising my children I kept my hand in education by tutoring, by advocating for students with special needs and through education foundation work in the OJR school district. As crazy as it sounds I also owned and operated a custom cake shop. You’d be surprised how similar the two fields are!
Again, I am thrilled to be working with your children this year and I'm proud to be a part of the STC community!
